Termination of Pregnancy

Worried woman went to her gynecologist and said:

'Doctor, I have a serious p...roblem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.'

So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?'

She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.'

She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.'

The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!'

'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.'

The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.

He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!

Patient Heart

To be kind is more important than to be right.

Sometimes all a person needs is not a brilliant mind that speaks...

...but a patient heart that listens.

Seeds

Most seeds never grow.

For 1 apple to bear 500 fruits, you need 10 seeds.

In life, this principle might mean you’ll need to attend 20 intervies to get 1 job,

Talk to 50 people to sell 1 house,

Meet 1000 acquaintances to have 1 special person.

If we really want to make things happen, we usually need to try more than once...

That’s the law of nature.

The Grass

Have you noticed the grass?

Even if somebody steps on it, it never gets hurt.

It never hurt others too.

When a wild storm attack, all the big trees get uprooted.

But the simple grass survives.

So, lets be noble and and humble like the grass.

Simple but strong.

Stop. Look. Listen.

Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round or listened to the rain slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask "How are you?" Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head?

Ever told your child, we'll do it tomorrow and in your haste, not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die 'cause you never had time to call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down. Don't dance so fast.

Time is short. The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere, you miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day, It is like an unopened gift thrown away.

Life is not a race. Do take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

The Joke

A wise man sat in the audience and cracked a joke...

Everybody laughs like crazy...

After a moment, he cracked the same joke again, less people laughed this time.

He cracked the same joke again, and again...

When there is no laughter in the crowd...

He smiled and said:

“You can’t laugh on the same joke again and again, then why do you keep crying on the same thing over and over again?”

Make sense? [sigh]

But do you know what is my disadvantage?

In my own problem I’ve never known on how to solve it.

Abortion

Would you consider abortion in the following situations?

1. There's a preacher and wife who are very, very, poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she's pregnant with her 15th. They're living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty, and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending she get an abortion?

2. The father is sick with sniffles, the mother has TB. They have 4 children. 1st is blind, 2nd is dead, 3rd is deaf, 4th has TB. She finds she's pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you consider recommending abortion?

3. A white man raped a 13 year old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion?

4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She's not married. Her fiance is not the father of the baby, and he's very upset. Would you consider recommending abortion?

In the first case, you have just killed John Wesley. One of the great evangelists in the 19th century.

In the second case, you have killed Beethoven.

In the third case, you have killed Ethel Waters, the great black gospel singer.

If you said yes to the fourth case, you have just declared the murder of Jesus Christ!

Angry Bird

A man was on the side of the road with a large birdcage. A boy noticed that the cage was full of birds of many kinds. “Where did you get those birds?” he asked.

“Oh, all over the place,” the man replied. “I lure them with crumbs, pretend I’m their friend then when they are close, I net them and shove them into my cage.”

“And what are you going to do with them now?”

The man grinned, “I’m going to prod them with sticks, and get them really mad so they fight and kill each other. Those that survive, I will kill. None will escape.”

The boy looked steadily at the man. What made him do such things? He looked into the cruel, hard eyes. Then he looked at the birds, defenseless, without hope.

“Can I buy those birds?” the boy asked.

The man hid a smile, aware that he could be on to a good thing if he played his cards right. “Well,” he said hesitantly, “The cage is pretty expensive, and I spent a lot of time collecting these birds, I’ll tell you what I’ll do, I’ll let you have the lot, birds, cage and all for ten pounds and that jacket you’re wearing.”

The boy paused, ten pounds was all he had, and the jacket was new and very special, in fact it was his prized possession. Slowly, he took out the ten pounds and handed it over, then even more slowly he took off his jacket, gave it one last look then handed that over too.

And then (well, you’ve guessed it) he opened the door and let the birds go free.

The Enemy of the world, Satan, was on the side of life’s road with a very large cage. The man coming towards him noticed that it was crammed full of people of every kind, young, old, from every race and nation. “Where did you get these people?” the man asked.

“Oh, from all over the world,” Satan replied. “I lure them with drink, drugs, lust, lies, anger, hate, love of money and all manner of things. I pretend I’m their friend, out to give them a good time, then when I’ve hooked them, into the cage they go.”

“And what are you going to do with them now?” asked the man.

Satan grinned. “I’m going to prod them, provoke them, get them to hate and destroy each other; I’ll stir up racial hatred, defiance of law and order; I’ll make people bored, lonely, dissatisfied, confused and restless. It’s easy. People will always listen to what I offer them and (what’s better) blame God for the outcome!” “And then what?” the man asked.

“Those who do not destroy themselves, I will destroy. None will escape me.”

The man stepped forward. “Can I buy these people from you?” he asked.

Satan snarled, “Yes, but it will cost you your life.”

So Jesus Christ, the Son of God, paid for your release, your freedom from Satan’s trap, with His own life, on the cross at Calvary. The door is open, and anyone, whom Satan has deceived and caged, can be set free.

The Third Grader Boy

Somewhere in Pampanga...

There is a third grader boy who always walk to school everyday. He has to cross the rugged plains and the dangerous highway where vehicles are recklessly driving.

Instead of passing this highway, the boy would take a short cut, he will walk through the Church every morning and greet Jesus. He always faithfully say, "Magandang umaga po".

He didn’t know that he was being watched by a Priest who was happy to see him because of his uplifting innocence.

"Kamusta, Miguel? Papasok ka na?" "Opo Padre ... " he replied while on his innocent grin.

The priest was touched because on the way he replied.

The Priest was so concerned to Miguel on his way to school that’s why one day he talked him.

"From school...", he advised.

"Do not cross the highway, you can pass through the Church and I can accompany you to the other side of the road. On that way I can see that you can go home safely."

"Thank you Padre ... "

"Anyway Miguel I having something to ask to you. Why do you stay in this church right after school?"

"I just want to say 'Hi' to my friend, Jesus,"

“Oh now I know.”

And the priest leave the boy to spend time beside the altar, talking to himself, but the priest was hiding behind the altar to listen to what this boy has to say to his heavenly Father.

"You know my math exam was pretty bad today, but I did not cheat although my seatmate is bullying me for notes.

I’m eating a craker then I saw a poor kitten who was hungry and I know how he feels so I gave my last cracker to him ... funny but I am not that hungry.

Look, this is my last pair of slippers. I may have to walk barefoot next week, you see this is about to be broken but it is okay at least I can still go to school.

Some say we will have a drought this month, some of my classmates have already stopped going to school .... please help them get to school again, please Jesus?

Oh, you know, Inay hit me again, it is painful, but I know this pain will pass away, at least I still have a mother. Jesus, you want to see my bruises? I know you can heal them.... Here... here and .... oh ...blood ....I guess you knew about this one but it is our secret ok? Please don't be mad at Inay, she is just tired and she worries for the food in our table and my schooling that is why she hits us.

Oh, I think I am in love ... there's this pretty girl in my class, her name is Anita ... do you think she will like me? Anyway, at least I know you will always like me, I don't have to be anybody just to please you, you are my very best friend!

Jesus your birthday near, I think it is two days from now. Aren't you excited? I am! I have a gift for you but it is a surprise! I hope you will like it! Oooops, I have to go ..." then he stood up and calls out, "Padre, padre, I am finished talking to my friend. You can accompany me to the other side of the road now"

This routine happens everyday. Miguel never fails. Padre shares this every Sunday to the people in his church because he has not seen a very pure faith and trust in Jesus, a very positive look at negative situations.

One Christmas day, Padre was sick so he could not make it in the Church, he was sent to the hospital. The Church was left to 4 Manangs who would chant the rosary in 1000 miles per hour, would not smile and would always find fault in what you do, they were also very well versed in cursing if you irritate them! They were kneeling, saying their kilometric rosary when Miguel, coming from his Christmas party, playfully dashed in.

"Hello Jesus! I ......"

"P----!! (a curse) bata ka!! Alam mo nang may nagdadasal!! Alis!!"

Poor Miguel was so terrified, "Where's Padre? He is supposed to help me cross the street ... and to be able to cross the street I need to pass by the back door of this church. Not only that, I have to greet Jesus. It is His birthday, I have a gift right here...

"Just as he was about to get the gift out of his shirt, the manang pulled his shirt and threw him out of the church. "

Susmaryosep!!! (does the sign of the cross fervently) Alis kang bata ka, kung hindi matatamaan ka!!!

So the boy had no choice but to cross the dangerous side of the road in front of the church. While he crossed, a fast moving bus came in. There was a blind curve. The boy was protecting his gift inside his shirt, so he was not looking. There was so little time. Miguel died on the spot. A lot of people crowded the poor boy, the body of a lifeless young boy...

Suddenly, out of nowhere a tall man in a pure white shirt and pants, a face so mild and gentle, but with eyes full of tears... He came and carried the boy in His arms. He was crying. Curious bystanders nudged the man in white, and asked,

"Excuse me sir, are you related to this child?

Do you know this child?"

The man in white, His face mourning and in agony, looked up and answered, "He was my best friend . " was all he said. He took the badly wrapped gift in the bloody chest of the lifeless boy, and placed it near His heart. He stood up and carried the boy away and they both disappeared in sight.

The crowd was curious ...

On Christmas Eve, Padre knew the shocking news. He visited the house, and wanted to verify about the man in white. He consulted the parents of Miguel.

"How did you know that your son died?"

"A man in white brought him here." sobbed the mother.

"What did he say?"

The father answered, "He did not say anything. He was mourning. We do not know him and yet he was very lonely about our son's death, as if he knew our son very well. But there was something peaceful and unexplainable about him.

He gave me my son, and then he smiled peacefully. He brushed my son's hair away from his face and kissed him on his forehead, then he whispered something..."

"What did he say?"

"He said to my boy..." the father began, "Thank you for the gift .... I will see you soon ... you will be with me..." and the father of the boy continued, "and you know for a while, it felt so wonderful ... I cried, but I do not know why....all I know is I cried tears of joy .... I could not explain it, Padre, but when that man left, something peaceful came over me, I felt a deep sense of love inside ... I could not explain the joy in my heart, I knew my boy is in heaven now but...tell me, Padre, who is this man that my son talks to everyday in your church, you should know because you are always there ... except at the time of his death ......"

Padre suddenly felt the tears welling in his eyes, with trembling knees, he murmurred, "

... He was talking to no one ...... but .. Jesus...."

The Divorce Letter

Dear Wife,

I’m writing you this letter to tell you that I’m leaving you forever. I’ve been a good man to you for 7 years & I have nothing to show for it.

These last 2 weeks have been hell.

Your boss called to tell me that you quit your job today and that was the last straw.

Last week, you came home and didn’t even notice I had a new haircut, had cooked your favorite meal and even wore a brand new pair of silk boxers.

You ate in 2 minutes, and went straight to sleep after watching all of your favorite show.

You don’t tell me you love me anymore.

You don’t want sex or anything that connects us as husband and wife.

Either you’re cheating on me or you don’t love me anymore.

Whatever the case, I’m gone.

Your EX-Husband

P.S. Don’t try to find me. Your SISTER and I are moving away to West Virginia together! Have a great life!

—————————————————————————————————————————————

Dear Ex-Husband

Nothing has made my day more than receiving your letter.

It’s true you & I have been married for 7 years, although a good man is a far cry from what you’ve been.

I watch my favorite show so much because they drown out your constant whining & griping, too bad that doesn’t work.

I did notice when you got a hair cut last week, but the 1st thing that came to mind was ‘You look just like a girl!’

Since my mother raised me not to say anything if you can’t say something nice, I didn’t comment.

And when you cooked my favorite meal, you must have gotten me confused with MY SISTER, because I stopped eating pork 7 years ago.

About those new silk boxers: I turned away from you because the $49.99 price tag was still on them, & I prayed it was a coincidence that my sister had just borrowed $50 from me that morning.

After all of this, I still loved you & felt we could work it out. So when I hit the lotto for 10 million dollars, I quit my job & bought us 2 tickets to Jamaica. But when I got home you were gone.

Everything happens for a reason, I guess.

I hope you have the fulfilling life you always wanted. My lawyer said that the letter you wrote ensures you won’t get a dime from me.

So take care.

Signed, Your Millionair Ex-Wife

P.S. I don’t know if I ever told you this, but my sister Carla was born Carl.

A message from God for all the girls.

“No man can ever claim you unless he claim you from me,

I reserved a man for you who has my heart and loves me even more than he will love you,

I won’t give you unless he asks you from me,

Soon you will know him, I have the perfect time,

You’re my princess, my daughter,

Let no man claim you unless he ask you from my hand,

For I’m your Father, the King of Kings,

You’re my princess, you deserve a prince.”

But throw them your fruits so the seeds of your self may inspire them to change their ways.

THE SCIENTIFIC DEATH OF JESUS

At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to death .

At that time crucifixion was the "worst" death. Only the worst criminals were condemned to be crucified. Yet it was even more dreadful for Jesus, unlike other criminals condemned to death by crucifixion Jesus was to be nailed to the cross by His hands and feet.

Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long.

The nails were driven into His wrist. Not into His palms as is commonly portrayed. There's a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder. The Roman guards knew that when the nails were being hammered into the wrist that tendon would tear and break, forcing Jesus to use His back muscles to support himself so that He could breath.

Both of His feet were nailed together. Thus He was forced to support Himself on the single nail that impaled His feet to the cross. Jesus could not support himself with His legs because of the pain so He was forced to alternate between arching His back then using his legs just to continue to breath. Imagine the struggle, the pain, the suffering, the courage.

Jesus endured this reality for over 3 hours.

Yes, over 3 hours! Can you imagine this kind of suffering? A few minutes before He died, Jesus stopped bleeding. He was simply pouring water from his wounds.

From common images we see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound to His side... But do we realize His wounds were actually made in his body. A hammer driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped and an even large nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear. But before the nails and the spear Jesus was whipped and beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body. The beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp. Most men would not have survived this torture.

He had no more blood to bleed out, only water poured from His wounds. The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters (just less than a gallon) of blood.

Jesus poured all 3.5 liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into him; a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His chest..

All these without mentioning the humiliation He suffered after carrying His own cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in his face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, only for its higher part, where His hands were nailed).

Jesus had to endure this experience, to open the Gates of Heaven, So that you can have free access to God.

So that your sins could be "washed" away. All of them, with no exception!

BINOCULARS

How many of you have a pair of binoculars? Binoculars are really amazing. You can look at something that is very far away and it brings it right up to you. A lot of people take binoculars to football game, baseball game, or basketball game so that they can see the action better. Some people take binoculars when they go hunting to help them find the animals they are hunting. I have a friend who likes to watch birds. He can look through a pair of binoculars and he can watch birds from a great distance and watch what they are doing. The birds don’t even know that he is watching.

This reminds me that we are all being watched. Other people are watching us to see what we are doing, but more important to remember is that the Bible tells us that God is watching us. It says “His eyes are on the ways of men; he sees their every step.”

That means that He sees us when we are fighting with our brother or sister. He sees us when we don’t act the way we should act in school. He sees us when we talk back to our parents. He sees every thing we do.

Since God is watching us and sees everything we do, we should be very careful and make sure that we are doing things that will please Him.

X-RAY

Some of you have probably seen an x-ray. Many times when we go to the doctor, he cannot tell if we have something wrong just by looking at us. We may look just fine on the outside, but there might be something wrong on the inside. To see what is on the inside, the doctor takes an x-ray. By looking at the x-ray, the doctor can see what's on the inside and helps us to get well. You can't always tell by looking at the outside.

The Bible tells us that man looks at outward appearance, but God looks on the inside. You can't always tell what a person is really like by looking at the outside. Some people may be beautiful on the outside, but they may be very mean, selfish, and hateful on the inside. Some people may not be very beautiful to look at, but on the inside they are loving, gentle, and kind.

We spend a lot of time making sure we look good on the outside, but what are we doing to make sure we look good on the inside? When we look at people, we need to remember that we can only see what's on the outside, but God can see what's on the inside - and it's what's inside that counts.

Rock, Paper, Scissors

Did you ever played the game Rock, Paper, Scissors? People all over the world play that game. Not just children either -- even adults play the game. Did you know that there is an international tournament each year and players from all over the world come together to compete in Rock, Paper, Scissors? Yes, Rock, Paper, Scissors is a very popular game.

As you probably know, each player holds one fist in front of him and hits it with his other fist three times. Then, on the fourth time, the player's top hand forms either a rock, paper, or scissors. This is how you know who wins: a rock smashes scissors, paper covers a rock, and scissors cut paper.

Let's play! You can play against me and you can keep track of how many times you win. Ready? One, two, three, go. Okay, I made a rock. If you made paper, you win. If you made scissors, I win. If you made a rock, we tied.

The great thing about Rock, Paper, Scissors is that any one of them can be a winner. I have a real rock, paper, and scissors here. If you are going to write a letter, a rock or scissors wouldn't be much help, but a piece of paper would, wouldn't it? If you wanted to cut a piece of paper, a rock or paper wouldn't help, but a pair of scissors would. If you were really thirsty and needed a drink of water, a piece of paper or a pair of scissors wouldn't be much help, but a rock might be exactly what you need.

What? Maybe you think I'm crazy! Don't you think a rock would help you if you needed a drink of water? Well, in our Bible story, that is exactly what happened.

Moses was the leader of the people of Israel. He was leading them from Egypt to a land that God would give to them. They were wandering through the desert and people were thirsty. They began to grumble and complain to Moses. "We are dying," they said, "our children are dying, our cattle are dying. Why did you bring us out of Egypt to die out here in the desert?"

Moses went to his tent and fell on his knees before God. "What should I do?" Moses prayed. "There is no water in the desert. The people are thirsty and they are ready to kill me."

God answered Moses and said to him, "Take your shepherd's staff and walk ahead of the people. I will meet you by the rock at Mount Sinai. When you come to the rock, strike it with your staff and water will flow from the rock. The people will be have plenty of water to drink."

Moses did exactly what God told him to do and guess what happened? He got water from a rock!

So, what should you and I do when we face an impossible situation? We should ask God for his help, and then trust in him. Sometimes we may not understand the way God is leading, but we just have to trust him. After all, who would have thought you could get water from a rock?

Blindfold

When we do something for the very first time it can be a little bit scary.

Do you remember your very first day at school?

Your mother probably went in with you to help you find your room and meet your teacher.

When you got on a bicycle for the first time, someone probably walked along beside you and helped hold you up at the very beginning.

That gave you confidence and soon you were riding on your own. When you went swimming for the first time, you didn't just go out and jump in the pool, did you?

No, there was someone with you to hold you up until you you could swim on your own.

It really helps if we have someone we trust to be with us when we are about to do something we have never done before.

What if I will blindfold you and find your way back to me and bring a water?

How do you think you might feel?

Would you be worried that you might bump into something and hurt yourself?

Would you be afraid that others might laugh at you when you went the wrong direction?

What if I said that I would go with you and hold your hand?

You trust me, don't you? I will be with you every step. How does that make you feel?

How about you, do you ever take a journey into the unknown?

Sure you do. Just about every day we face things which we have never done before.

They may be a bit scary, but we know that God is with us. We just have to trust him to lead the way.

Common Sense

An illiterate father with his educated son went on a camping trip. They set up their tent and fell asleep.

Some hours later, father wakes his son and ask:

“Look up to the sky and tell me what you see?”

Son: “I see millions of stars.”

Father: “What does that tell you?”

Son: Astronomically, it tells that there are millions of galaxies and planets.

Father slaps the son hard and says:

“Idiot! Someone has stolen our tent!”

Moral: Too much education can ruin your common sense.

Promise

Nike2x: I'm sure that everyone has seen a ring like this one. It is a very special kind of ring. Do you know what kind of ring it is? It is a wedding ring. It is a very simple ring. It has no diamonds or any other precious stones. It is just a plain, simple band of gold, but it is very special because it is a reminder of a promise that is made when a couple gets married. On the day that they are married, a husband and wife make a promise that they will love and stand faithfully beside one another "for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, for as long as they live." Each of them wears a wedding band as a reminder of that promise that they made. The ring also tells everyone who sees it about the promise that the couple made.

We all make promises, don't we? You might promise your mother that you will clean your room and do your chores before you go out to play. Or you may promise to keep a secret told to you by your best friend. You may promise to return something that you borrowed from a neighbor.

Has anyone ever broken a promise they made to you? How did that make you feel? What did you say? You were probably very disappointed and said something like, "But you promised!" Sometimes we aren't very good at keeping our promises.

God makes promises. Our Bible lesson today is about a promise that God made to a man named Noah. I'm sure that you know the story of how God sent a great flood to destroy the earth because the people had become so wicked and evil. He destroyed everything he had created except for two of every kind of bird and animal and Noah and his family. He spared them because Noah was a good and righteous man who walked with God.

After the flood waters went down and Noah's family and all the animals could leave the ark, God made a promise to Noah. He promised Noah that he would never again destroy the whole earth with a flood. Then he did something to remind Noah of that promise. He placed a rainbow in the sky and he said to Noah, "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the promise between me and all life on the earth." God said that every time he saw the rainbow, he would remember the promise that he made.

God has kept that promise, hasn't he? God keeps all of his promises. In fact, the Bible says that, "No matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ." (2 Corinthians 1:20) The next time you see a rainbow, remember the promise God made to Noah, and remember that just as he has kept that promise, he keeps all of his promises.

The Stick

Nike2x: I am looking for someone who is very strong to help me this morning. Who would like to help?

One kid volunteers.

You look pretty strong to me. Do you think you can break this stick?

Nike2x gave the child one small stick that can easily be broken.

Wow! You are strong! You easily broke that stick.

Let's see if you can break these sticks.

Nike gave the child a bundle of sticks that are bound together. After giving the child time to try to break the bundle of sticks he said...

“The sticks in this bundle are just like the stick that was so easily broken. Yet when they are bound together, they are much stronger than they are when they are by themselves. Even the very strongest person here this morning could not break this bundle of sticks.”

These sticks can teach us an important lesson about the church. Sometimes when we think of the church, we think of a building where we come to worship, but the church isn't a building. The church is made up of men, women, boys, and girls who have chosen to follow Jesus. You, me, all of the people here today -- all of us together -- we are the church.

Some people say, "I can be a Catholic without going to church" -- and that may be true -- but by ourselves we are not very strong. When Satan tries to tempt us to do something that we know is wrong, it may be difficult to resist him if we try to go it alone. But if we stand together with others who follow Jesus, they will be a source of strength and encouragement. We will be much stronger than we would be by ourselves.

One day, Jesus went off by himself to pray. He prayed for his disciples because he knew that his disciples had to live in the world and that they would be tempted by the evil things of the world. He also knew that if his disciples would come together as one, they would be much stronger than they would as individuals. So he prayed and asked God to protect them and to help them to be one, just as he and his Father were one.

When Satan tempts you to do things that you know are wrong, remember the lesson of the sticks -- there is strength in unity.

Tempestuous

There once was a little girl who had a bad temper. His father gave her a bag of nails and told her that every time she lost his temper, she must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day, the girl had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as she learned to control her anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. She discovered it was easier to hold her temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the girl didn't lose her temper at all. She told her father about it and the father suggested that the girl now pull out one nail for each day that she was able to hold her temper. The days passed and the girl was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took her daughter by the hand and led her to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my girl, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one."

The Flower

A man stopped at a flower shop to order some flowers to be wired to his mother who lived two hundred miles away.

As he got out of his car he noticed a young girl sitting on the curb sobbing.

He asked her what was wrong and she replied, "I wanted to buy a red rose for my mother.

But I only have seventy-five cents, and a rose costs two dollars."

The man smiled and said, "Come on in with me. I'll buy you a rose."

He bought the little girl her rose and ordered his own mother's flowers.

As they were leaving he offered the girl a ride home.

She said, "Yes, please! You can take me to my mother."

She directed him to a cemetery, where she placed the rose on a freshly dug grave.

The man returned to the flower shop, canceled the wire order, picked up a bouquet and drove the two hundred miles to his mother's house.

Bestfriend

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "Today my best friend slapped me in the face."

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one, who had been slapped, got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After the friend recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "Today my best friend saved my life."

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"

The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

Learn to write your hurts in the sand, and to carve your benefits in stone.

The Eagle

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?

The Eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them.

God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.

Better than before.

Secret of Success

When I woke up this morning I asked myself:

What are some secrets of success in life?

I found the answer right in my head: "Aim High"

Window said "See the world"

Clock said "Every minute is precious"

Mirror said "Reflect before you act"

Door said "Push hard for your goals"

and don't forget...

The floor said...

"Kneel down and pray."

The Chapter

In a service,

Pastor: Next Sunday, I’ll preach about the sin of lying. To understand more, I want you all to read Mark 17...

The following Sunday...

Pastor: How many of you had read Mark 17?

Almost every hand raised except for a guy who was dressed like a gangster member.

Pastor: Why my son you didn’t read what I tell you?

Guy: Well, I can’t find the 17th Chapter...

Pastor: (smiled)

“Mark has only 16 chapters. Let’ now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying.”

Jesus

He had no servants, yet they call Him Master.

No degree but they call Him Teacher.

No medicines and they call Him Healer.

No army yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb yet He lives for us again.

Should we not trust Him with our lives?

Perfect World

A father was reading a newspaper...

He didn’t want to be disturbed by his little girl so he cut out a map of the world,

tore it to pieces and gave it to her to assemble,

after a while she returned to him with the map all in perfect order.

Every piece in its place.

The suprised father said:

“Honey, you don’t know anything about geography so how did you do it?”

The innocent girl replied:

“The picture of Jesus is at the back and I know if I had Jesus in the right place,
the whole world would be perfect.”
